  • Those drivers who wish to drive a minibus over 3.5 tonnes but only have a B category licence, or
  • Those whose role at work is solely driving (for which you are paid), or
  • Those who drive commercially

Minibus/MPV Driver Validation & Revalidation Courses

This course is for:

  • Those drivers who  drive for education, sports, religious, charities or social activity, and
  • D1 or B category licence holders who don't hold a current validation certificate, or
  • Drivers who have previously completed a validation course and require a renewal

This course is approved by Plymouth City Council.

Driver Profile Assessment

Points on your licence?  It’s not the end of the road…

Employers have a duty of care to drivers & passengers; if your driver has been in a driving incident (or has points on their licence), best practice is to have an assessment before getting back on the road.

This course is for you if:

  • You want to reduce costs and the risk of driving incidents in your organisation, or
  • Your minibus is insured by Plymouth City Council and you have points on your licence (in which case you must have an Assessment to continue driving)

Never had validation training before?
– choose our Validation Course

  • 2 hour theory session and test, either:
    • Via online live webinar (up to 2 weeks before practical training), or
    • Classroom based at your venue on the practical training day
  • Practical on-road individual training and assessment per delegate over a 2 hour period
    • Reduces the need for staff cover
    • Can mix and match validation with revalidation delegates on the same course
    • Possibility of combining delegates from different organisations to maximise productivity
  • Training vehicle supplied either
    • By your organisation, or
    • By The Road Safety Solution if all delegates have a D1 licence category
  • Valid for 3 years

Have you done this before?

  • 2 hour theory session and test, either:
    • Via online live webinar (up to 2 weeks before practical training), or
    • Classroom based at your venue on the practical training day
  • Practical on-road individual training and assessment per delegate over a 1.5 hour period
    • Reduces the need for staff cover
    • Can mix and match validation with revalidation delegates on the same course
    • Possibility of combining delegates from different organisations to maximise productivity
  • Training vehicle supplied either
    • By your organisation, or
    • By The Road Safety Solution if all delegates have a D1 licence category
  • Valid for 3 years

Driver Profile Assesments

  • An online questionnaire completed by the delegate in advance to allow the trainer to identify problem areas (i.e. areas of potential risk)
  • Friendly & informal 30-minute discussion between delegate and trainer about the questionnaire to find solutions and minimise risks
  • 90-minute practical on-road session
  • 1:1 training tailored to suit (based on the questionnaire and discussion)
  • Training vehicle supplied either:
    • By your organisation, or
    • By The Road Safety Solution

This course will help to reduce your costs by helping drivers avoid incidents in the future (avoiding increases in premiums, expensive repairs and/or costly replacement vehicles).

STEP 2 - Book Your Driver Profile Assessment!

Refunds

Course fees will NOT be refunded for any booking altered or cancelled by the client within 1 week of the course date.

Rescheduling

The Road Safety Solution Limited reserve the right to cancel course dates. Fees received for courses cancelled by The Road Safety Solution Limited will either be refunded or carried over to a future course.

Documents Required

All delegates must produce a full, valid driving licence at the beginning of a course together with a full licence printout from https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence. Any delegate who fails to produce a licence and a licence printout will NOT be able to carry out the course.

Invoicing

All courses booked will be invoiced immediately upon receipt of the booking. Payment must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the course date.
